Sci-Fi Moodboard

Here is my Sci-fi moodboard!! I hope you like it, unfortunately it's not the best quality as I originally did it on an A3 piece of paper whilst my scanner is only A4!

Here is what I had planned it to look like originally- hopefully quite similiar!:

Tick and Tock 'Photoshoot'

Here are some photos I took today of Tick and Tock, which I then later edited on Picnik.com so I could get the desired effect from my photos !!

Filming Set up- Screen

I have an old projector screen which I've decided to use as a backdrop. I mainly use this when I need to take pictures such as character shots, or anything that I need to green screen later as it means I have a completely plain screen, therefore with editing, there's nothing that draws attention away from what I actually need for my film.

Example:

Slight Change In Ideas

I've decided to change my idea about my antagonists, Tick and Tock. They'll still be Tick and Tock! The only difference is the fact, I've decided to have female actors for these characters, however, they'll still be dressed as males. I've decided to do this as Men are often seen as with more authority than women, I thought it'd be an intresting twist to actually have women impersonating men as society doesn't seem to realise that women can be seen as evil as well as men.

It's Make-Up Testing Time!!!

As I'm planning to start filming on thursday (two days from now) I thought it would be a good idea to pratice the make-up for Tick and Tock, therefore I do not have to spend so much time in preparation for filming as I've already done it once. I wanted a sinister look for my characters and also, as I have long hair and Tock does not, putting hair up into a more 'boyish' style.

As I'm acting as 'Tock'I decided to do the make-up and hair for him first, and since Tick's make-up is practically the same, then I can just apply to same to the actor of Tick.

To make Tock's make-up and hair I needed:
* White Face Paint
* Black Face Paint
* Eyeliner
* Hair Gel
* Hair Bobbles
* Hair Grips

First I used the white face paint, used a sponge and applied to my face in the areas that the Tock mask did not cover- the aim of this was so when you are on film it looks like the paint blends in with the mask (however, it doesn't blend as well with a still camera as it's good quality and sharp, whilst film usually the colours tend to merge more)

Secondly, I got the black face paint and using the sponge, surrounded my eyes, then to fill in the gaps and to get rid of the pink around my eyes I used eyeliner.

And that's all you have to do for make-up! The only reason why that takes a while is because you have to put multiply layers on the skin so the white looks better and less blotchy.

Now it's time for the hair!!

First Tie up the hair into a bun, that way if you have long hair (like I do) it will stay out of the shot (hopefully!)

After putting your hair into a bun, if you have any long strands left around your face, use the hair gel to smooth it against your head so all you are left with is a fringe. With that fringe, you use the hair gel again to stick up as much fringe as possibly (my fringe has grown fairly long unfortunately) and style it so it looks messy.

All you have to do is put on the mask and voilĂ ! You have a sinister looking antagonist! Make-up and hair success!
